Family Session - Standing Bear Lake - Omaha Nebraska

Standing Bear Lake has such a cute little picnic area near the water!  We had to find a little shelter from the window a few Sundays ago, but it was worth it!  Love these images!

On the Farm Engagement Session

Last weekend was a perfect Saturday to head out to the farm for an engagement shoot.  I left Omaha bright and early to catch the good light, and it was SO worth it!  This farm has been run by J's family for 100 years!  It was full of beautiful textures around every corner.  Check out the beautiful couple!

This seriously is the most perfect time of year to hang out on the farm.  The corn was tall and just starting to dry up.  Love the colors!

J's dad had this 1960's Chevelle just sitting for decades out in the weather.  Decades.  It's amazing.  It has aged beautifully...for photographs anyway!

S. Family Session

This was one of the most joyous families I have ever met.  Seriously!  They had so much fun and never stopped laughing! Even in the face of challenges to come in the coming weeks, I know they are going to rock it!  We met at Lanoha Nursery a few weeks ago.  It was so, so hot!  But look how gorgeous everyone looks!

Check out that color coordination!  If you are looking for ideas for what to wear to your next family shoot, take a play out of their book!  Coordinating, but not matchy-matchy.  Pick a color family and then mix it up a little with different shades and patterns.

A Proposal!

I had the honor of photographing a surprise proposal last weekend!  It was beautiful!  K. had it all planned out.  I waited at Heartland of America Park near the Old Market in Omaha.  I scoped out the best position so the fountain would be in the background!

I wish these two the best of luck as they begin their engagement!  I am so absolutely excited to have been a part of it!  How wonderful to have these images to remember this special day for the rest of their lives!

Children's Photography

Photographing children is one of the best types of sessions!  We always have fun.  I really try to make the sessions feel like we are playing in the park!

We get to do fun things like "Jump on the count of 3!"

And pick flowers.

Each child has their own little personality (big or small).  I love to try to bring that out in our sessions by talking about what they love to do, playing games, and running all over the place!

I love to do these sessions at a park near your home.  I will travel anywhere around Omaha for sessions!  That way your children are more comfortable and feel like they can be themselves!

Family Photography

Family photography is the cornerstone of many photographers' lives.  I love these type of sessions for so many reasons.

How can you not have fun with families laughing like that?  I love to capture relaxed and candid images.  Everybody has fun and just gets to hang out or play.  I usually have these sessions at a park near your home.  There are many spots all around Omaha that are perfect.  If you have a special location that means a lot to your family, don't hesitate to let me know!

I love to capture little moments between loved ones.  Even if it doesn't feel like the shoot is going "perfectly" for Mom and Dad, there is always a little something to capture.  Even if your kiddo is shy, or tired, or grumpy.

Introduction

Hello!  Let me introduce myself!  My name is Sarah.  I am the photographer at Heartland Photography.  I have been a fine art and nature photographer for years and run an Etsy shop here.  I recently began to expand my business and am offering portrait and event photography in Omaha and the surrounding areas.

I have been living in Omaha, Nebraska for the last 6 years with my husband and rowdy dog, Izzy.

We have also recently added a new addition to our little family.  Blue eyed baby E was born last October.  She has been the craziest adventure of our lives (and is currently sitting straight up in her crib instead of napping as I type...sigh).

I enjoy many types of portrait photography and am currently offering newborn, children, family, and event photography.  Stay tuned in the following weeks to learn a little more about the services I offer!
